Full 2020 Audi Q7 Pricing Released, Including Entry-Level Four-Cylinder

News

Audi previously announced pricing for the six-cylinder versions of its lightly updated-for-2020 Q7 crossover, and we only needed to wait a little while for the rest—meaning the entry-level four-cylinder’s price. As you’d expect, the four-pot Q7 costs less than the one with the upgraded turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, which starts at $61,795.

How much less? Pricing for the 2020 Audi Q7 45 TFSI, as the four-cylinder SUV is called, will open at $55,795. Jump to the Q7’s Premium Plus trim—the highest available on four-cylinder—and the price tag rises to $58,195. These models get extras such as a 3-D surround sound system, and a top-view camera with 360-degree view. Should you want an even nicer Q7, you’ll have to cough up for the “55 TFSI” V-6 in order to grab the Prestige model. And yes, in case you were wondering, Audi used to assign more natural names for both engines; the four-cylinder went by the logical 2.0T moniker, and the V-6 wore 3.0T badging, both in line with those engines’ displacement figures.

The 2020 Audi Q7 ‘s turbocharged 2.0-liter 45 TFSI makes 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. V-6 models are quite a bit more powerful at 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. For comparison, the 2020 BMW X5 starts at $59,895; unlike the Audi, the BMW lacks standard all-wheel drive but makes up for it with a 335-hp inline-six. At $55,145, Mercedes-Benz’s base GLE-Class undercuts the Q7 but flips that order, coming with a 255-hp turbo four similar to the Audi’s and without AWD (it’s optional). Every Q7 uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Regardless of how many cylinders are beneath the hood, every 2020 Q7 receives a refreshed exterior with a more prominent grille and a nicer interior with two touchscreens. The upper 10.1-inch screen controls infotainment and navigation, while the lower 8.6-inch unit is for climate and comfort functions. (This same setup is rapidly spreading throughout Audi’s lineup, where it replaces a single infotainment screen manipulated via a control knob on the center console.) Restyled LED headlights and taillights, 19-inch wheels, three-zone automatic climate control, and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster are notable standard features on the four-cylinder Q7, which, despite its power deficit relative to the V-6, still moves around quite well.
