2018 Honda CR-V LX FWD Long-Term Update 3: Visiting the Dealer

Just a couple hundred miles after hitting 5,000 in the odometer, the A-1 light on our long-term 2018 CR-V LX illuminated. My busy schedule at the time didn’t allow me to go to the dealer right away, so after hitting 5,500 miles Motor Trend‘s intern and test analytics expert JC Anne Hancock took our CR-V to its first dealer visit.

The A-1 service required an oil change, new filter, and tire rotation. As with every service, there was a multi-point inspection that covers the tire and brake condition, an interior and exterior check, a battery test, and a look under the hood and under the vehicle. Even though the CR-V had a green checkmark on every category of the multi-point inspection, the service cost was a hefty $94.22. The entire service was completed in just over two hours.

Aside from the pricey visit to the dealer, the CR-V LX is starting to show normal wear and tear. It has a couple of minor stains on the gray cloth seats from accidental liquid spills, and the center armrest is showing some use. Aside from that, the CR-V continues to be a favorite among my coworkers and is constantly booked for weekend road trips.
