The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is already plenty quick in stock form, estimated by Dodge to hit 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds (on a prepped surface). But the folks at Hennessey Performance Engineering just can’t leave insane enough alone. The tuning company announced today that its modified Demon can sprint to 60 in 1.9 seconds and complete the quarter in 9.14 seconds.

Hennessey recorded the Demon HPE1000’s latest run at its home track, Lonestar Motorsports Park, on May 8. Not only did it manage to beat the stock Demon’s quarter mile time, it did so at a higher trap speed (152 mph versus 140 mph). The entire run, including a shot of the Demon’s time slip, can be seen in the video below.

The Hennessey HPE1000 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon packs 1,035 hp and 948 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, an increase of 195 hp and 231 lb-ft over a stock Demon’s power output on 100-octane race gas. This is achieved by replacing the original 2.7-liter supercharger with a 4.5-liter blower and upgrading the fuel system, engine management software, intake, throttle body, and exhaust headers.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be rare as heck with only 3,300 units planned, but the HPE1000 will be even rarer. Hennessey will offer this tune on just 50 Demons, and each will receive a 1-year/12,000-mile limited warranty. Hennessey doesn’t give pricing details, but if you’re considering the upgrade, expect to add a five-figure amount on top of the Demon’s roughly $86,000 price tag.
