At the New York auto show in March, Mazda quietly rolled out the refreshed CX-3 subcompact crossover. The Japanese automaker didn’t go into much detail about the changes then, but now we know much more about the updated CX-3, including pricing.
The 2019 Mazda CX-3 will start at $21,365 when it goes on sale later this month, up $315 from last year’s model. The base CX-3 gets better materials and sound insulation for 2019, and has the option of full leather seats. An electronic parking brake comes standard, freeing up space in the center console. Other standard features include a new Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring System, blind spot system with rear cross-traffic alert, push-button start, two USB ports, 16-inch alloy wheels, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch Mazda Connect display.
The Touring trim starts at $23,450, and adds 18-inch wheels, hands-free keyless entry, heated mirrors, automatic LED headlights, automatic climate control, and more. Meanwhile, the top-trim Grand Touring starts at $26,720, and includes black or Parchment leather seats with pleated piping, more chrome exterior accents, a full-color head-up display, power moonroof, adaptive LED headlights, LED foglights, onboard navigation, and paddle shifters for the six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available on every trim level for an extra $1,400. Premium paint colors include Soul Red Crystal ($595), Machine Gray Metallic ($300), and Snowflake White Pearl Mica ($200).
Mazda says the CX-3’s front seats have been redesigned, as was its rear armrest, which gets integrated cupholders. As we previously reported, the refreshed CX-3 receives an updated front grille, new taillights, and new wheel designs. All 2019 CX-3s also get the slightest of power bumps for the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder, increasing 2 hp to 148 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque.
