Buick will debut an all-electric concept SUV dubbed “Enspire” in China this month. It’s unclear whether Buick plans to bring the concept to production, but it may provide a glimpse into the brand’s future design strategy.

This week, the automaker released a teaser image of the Enspire’s back end. This portion of the car doesn’t seem to take many design cues from the rest of Buick’s lineup. Instead, it sports thin taillights which appear to be connected by a light bar. Just underneath the lights is the Buick name badge. However, Buick’s vehicles in China don’t display the Buick script, and the automaker said it will no longer stick its name on the back of its cars in North America, its only other market.

No further information on the Buick Enspire has been released at this point, with the exception of a few cryptic words. In a statement, Buick says the Enspire “leverages GM’s global resources” and “is an exploration of design and new technologies.”

GM will roll out many electric vehicles in the next decade. Initially, the brand will launch four new EVs by 2020. It will then introduce a new EV platform in 2021 that will underpin at least 11 vehicles. By 2026, GM wants to sell 1 million EVs on an annual basis. Given crossovers are hot right now, there could very well be room for an electric Buick crossover in the lineup.

We’ll learn more about the Enspire concept when the SUV debuts at Buick Brand Night on April 17 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. Later in the month, the model will make an appearance at the Beijing auto show.
