Nissan is bringing back the Rogue Hybrid, this time with a slightly higher price tag. Starting at $27,995, the 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid benefits from a number of upgrades also seen on the gas-only model, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

That’s a $380 price hike from the base 2017.5 Rogue Hybrid from September 2017. Buyers who opt for all-wheel drive on the base SV hybrid will pay at least $29,345, also up $380 from last year. Upgrading to the SL trim level, which brings along a 7.0-inch display, navigation, satellite radio, and nine-speaker sound system, costs $33,355 with front-wheel drive or $34,705 with all-wheel drive. These prices are up $820.

In addition to standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the updated Rogue Hybrid now features an extra USB port inside the center console box. The base model also adds a standard motion-activated liftgate. On the SL grade, intelligent cruise control is now standard as is lane departure warning, intelligent lane intervention, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

Like last year when it debuted, the Rogue Hybrid isn’t much more expensive than the standard Rogue. The base hybrid is only $1,000 more expensive than the gas-only SV trim, for instance. Hybrid models achieve an EPA-estimated 33/35 mpg city/highway with front-wheel drive or 31/34 mpg with all-wheel drive. However, our Real MPG tests last year showed that this crossover’s real-world performance was much lower at 27.8/29.9 mpg when paired with all-wheel drive.

The Rogue Hybrid still uses a 2.0-liter gas engine and a 30-kilowatt electric motor to make a combined 176 hp. That drivetrain is backed by a continuously variable transmission. The all-wheel-drive model hit 60 mph in a leisurely 9.1 seconds in our tests last year.
