In honor of the total solar eclipse, Nissan announced three new Midnight Edition models. The 2018 Nissan Titan, Titan XD, and Frontier join the list of vehicles to offer the automaker’s special brand of dark cosmetic upgrades for the exterior and interior. No solar viewing glasses required.

Nissan unveiled the three trucks in Tennessee today as the sky went dark in the middle of the day. The Midnight Edition models will arrive at Nissan dealerships late this fall.

On the two Titan trucks, the Midnight Edition adds a black grille with a dark insert, dark headlights, black rearview mirror caps, black door handles, body color front- and rear bumpers, step rails, special black badging, and 20-inch black alloy wheels. Buyers don’t have to choose a black paint job; other options include Gun Metallic and Pearl White. Inside, the models feature charcoal trim and Midnight Edition floor mats.

The Midnight Edition package is available on Crew Cab SV and SL trims with either rear- or four-wheel drive. The Titan XD only offers the Midnight Edition package on four-wheel-drive models in these trims paired with the 5.0-liter turbodiesel engine.

Frontier pickups with the Midnight Edition receive similar upgrades to the special Titans. But instead of 20-inch black wheels, they receive 18-inch black wheels. Buyers can get a Frontier Midnight Edition on Crew Cab SV models with either rear- or four-wheel drive.

Nissan also offers Midnight Edition packages for the Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, and Sentra. The special edition vehicles sell two times faster than standard models, the automaker says.

Prices for the 2018 Nissan Titan, Titan XD, and Frontier Midnight Edition models have not yet been announced.
